TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania launch the 3rd edition of VIA Creative Challenge

On 10th July 2024, TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Limited in collaboration with Nafasi Art Space launched VIA creative project third edition at Makuburi Primary school in Ubungo district Dar es salaam which was the national winner for 2023 VIA Creative Project.


The event was officiated by S.S.P Deus Sokoni from National police force, TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Limited management, Nafasi art space director, Ag. Manager Education Support from Tanzania Education Authority, local Government officials and TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Limited employees
VIA Creative project in Tanzania is funded in partnership with TotalEnergies Foundation which caters to provide road safety education for students in public primary schools of age 9 – 14 years old. The project educates students on safe mobility that is delivered through art, drama, and music by our partner Nafasi Art Space whom their talent has transpired to educate the students on road safety and source their inner art to demonstrate what they learn by painting, drawing, composing poems, drama and other form of arts.


Speaking during the event, Director of Legal, Corporate Affair, HR & Admin, Getrude Mpangile addressed that “To date VIA creative in the affiliate has reached more than 16,000 students and in 2024 the target is to reach 6000 students in 6 schools of Dar es Salaam. The program further intends to develop road safety school clubs with 120 road ambassadors in the selected schools. Furthermore, in this edition the winning school will be provided with a grand prize which the school will recommend as means of increasing road safety in their school surroundings for the safe mobility of the students.” 


Ms. Mpangile further added that “As 2024 is a great year for TotalEnergies where the company is celebrating its 100 years anniversary, TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Limited will be implementing several Community sustainability programs for the socio-economic development contribution to Tanzania. Today, we are donating 70 school desks for Makuburi Primary school to improve quality of education provision and planting 60 trees around the school environment.”

The representative from National Police force, S.S.P Deus Sokoni who was the guest of honour of the VIA launch event upheld TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Ltd and TotalEnergies Foundation for their efforts to combat road accidents through their road safety initiatives “The fight against road accidents is a priority for the United Republic of Tanzania where the provision of road safety education to students is one of the main ways to conquer this challenge. The Police Force road safety team is with you on this matter and in providing road safety education as well as knowing the rules, regulations and procedures of the road for students. In addition, let me congratulate TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Limited for providing 70 desks in Makuburi primary school as a contribution of the company to the development of the country through the education sector.”
