KIBITI DESK HANDOVER
On 24th September 2024, employees of TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Limited and representatives from the Tanzania Education Authority visited Jaribu Mpakani and Kitundu primary schools in Kibiti, Coastal Region of Tanzania. The school visit was organized for the purpose of handing over desks to the students.
The desk handover event took place on the 24th of September in Kibiti, Coastal Region of Tanzania. The event was officiated by representatives of the Tanzania Education Authority (TEA), including Mwanahamisi, Head of District Kibiti Joseph Kolombo, Administrative District Secretary Maria Katemana, Education Officer Zakayo Mlenduka, Action Director of Kibiti Denis Kitali, Headmaster at Jaribu Mpakani Gwido Mahoka, Headmistress at Kitundu Joharia Mchomvu, TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Limited Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs, HR, and Admin Getrude Mpangile, as well as TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Limited management and employees.
A total of 130 desks were handed over to the schools as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, which commemorates TotalEnergies' 100-year anniversary. Prior to this, 65 desks were given to Kitundu Primary and 65 desks to Jaribu Mpakani Primary School. TotalEnergies Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs, HR, and Admin Getrude Mpangile presented the desks to enhance the learning environment, improve student engagement, and promote better education and efficiency.
During the desk handover, TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs, HR, and Admin Getrude Mpangile stated that handing over desks can facilitate and improve communication between students and teachers. Corporate Social Responsibility areas where we support the government of the United Republic of Tanzania include the provision of desks to increase efficiency in education and foster positive relations between teachers and students.
