VIA CREATIVE AWARDS
On 25th October 2024, TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Limited, in partnership with the TotalEnergies Foundation and Nafasi Art Space, celebrated the 3rd edition of the VIA CREATIVE Awards. The event recognized the winners of a road safety student competition that showcased creativity and artistic works such as drama, music, and drawings. Students collaborated with Nafasi Art to provide road safety education to their peers in six selected schools.
The three schools honored were Makuburi Primary School (winner of the VIA CREATIVE Award 2024), NHC Ubungo Primary School (2nd runner-up), and Buza Primary School (3rd runner-up). The VIA CREATIVE Road Safety Awards ceremony took place on 25th October at TotalEnergies headquarters in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The event was officiated by guest of honor A.S.P. Rose Bernard Maira, Head of the Traffic Training Department of Kinondoni; TotalEnergies Managing Director Mamadou Ngom; Makuburi's head teacher Mohammed Athumani; and Nafasi Art Space Managing Director Mr. Felix Muchira, along with traffic officials, students, and TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Limited management and employees.
The VIA Road Safety Program 2024 reached 6,000 students in Uzuri, Ugindoni, Jangwani, Buza, NHC Ubungo, and Makuburi Primary Schools. Additionally, 120 road ambassadors aged 9-14 years were selected, with 20 representatives from each school, who delivered messages through art, drama, and music in collaboration with Nafasi Art Space. The winner of the VIA Award 2024, Makuburi Primary School, will represent Tanzania in the regional competition, while NHC Ubungo and Buza Primary Schools were recognized as 2nd and 3rd runners-up for their impressive presentations in the VIA Road Safety initiative.
TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania Limited Managing Director Mamadou Ngom addressed the audience about the VIA Award, congratulating the students and ambassadors from Makuburi Primary School for their achievement. He expressed his hopes for them to have more opportunities at the international competition level and to bring home a win for Tanzania. He also applauded the VIA International competitions for effectively fulfilling one of the road safety recommendations. Lastly, he expressed his gratitude to the United Republic of Tanzania for its efforts to ensure the safety of road users and promote education among students.

I also want to congratulate VIA CREATIVE for this unique competition, which helps us provide road safety education to the community and raises awareness among students. I would like to congratulate the students and ambassadors of Makuburi Primary School for their achievements in road safety. It’s a great acknowledgment of our efforts to educate the community.”
